History
The New Silk Way MUN has a long – standing and remarkable history that began in 2011. Over the years, NSWMUN Conference has g r o w n exponentially, gaining recognitionas a leading platform for Youth engagement with the UN and diplomacy. The conference aims tofoster a better understanding of global issues among young minds while encouraging criticalthinking, diplomacy, and negotiation skills, NSWMUN also aims at bringing young people closerto each other and producing unorthodox solutions in respect of the current pressing global issuesthat the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals focus at.
What is MUN
MODEL UNITED NATIONS IS A ROLE- PLAYING SIMULATION OF THE UNITED NATIONS IN WHICH PARTICIPANTS LEARN ABOUT CURRENT GLOBAL ISSUES AND HOW TO SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS WITHOUT POLITICAL BARRIERS. THE NEW SILK ROAD, ONE OF CENTRAL ASIA'S LARGEST MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCES, WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2011 AND ANNUALLY ORGANIZES INTERNATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCES, INSTITUTIONALIZED AT AL-FARABI KAZAKH NATIONAL UNIVERSITY.
